So much for bullpen issues.....(well, sort of)

Arthur Rhodes is money. Straight cash homey. Even after he loaded the bases in the 8th last night, he gets a pop up and two strikeouts to preserve the lead. Then the much maligned Francisco Cordero closes the door after putting a man on. Nice to see Coco challenging lefties inside with fastballs.

The setup and middle relief situation is still a little scary, but the veterans at the end are good enough to challenge for the pennant. I do expect the Reds to add another RH reliever, in addition to Russ Springer, but there are a lot of teams looking for bullpen help and few sellers right now.

One name that might be interesting is Matt Lindstrom from Houston. Houston got him from Florida where he washed out as the closer for the Fish. He's been really good for Houston, 22 saves good, and Houston is known to be selling. They wouldn't get the salary relief they'd get from dealing Oswalt or Berkman, but they'd get some prospects back all the same. Lindstrom will be a second year arbitration eligible player, so he's still relatively affordable for two more seasons.

Houston is notoriously difficult to deal with, so it probably won't happen, but he's interesting all the same.
